Bluntisham Rangers U 16B
Saffron Walden Town  0 Bluntisham Rangers U16B 2

Bluntisham u-16 B’s remain unbeaten after a well deserved 2-0 victory away to Saffron Walden Town. Blunty started well and created quite a few decent chances, with Andy Prior and Ben Colam supporting well down the flanks, and only some fine keeping by the Saffron goalie prevented them from adding to the single first half goal. Janagan Sivakumar turned in Dan Smiths excellent cross after Dan was put through by a superb Bif Butcher pass. In a physical battle the defence stood firm, well marshalled by Steve Merry, and restricted the home team to long range efforts that were comfortably dealt with by keeper Adam Dean. The second half was a more tense affair and resolute defending and some good attacking play lead Janagan to score his second goal with a fine finish. The whole team performed at the top of their game and it was difficult to single anybody out for man of the match.

Bluntisham Rangers U 15
Alconbury 2  0 Bluntisham Rangers U15 2

After an injury plagued start to the season the under 15s showed great courage in beating Alconbury 2-0 away. Blunty went in at half time one up after a long free kick from Alex Burr was nodded in by Dominic Richardson.
Tyler Manly then latched on to a Jack Gibbs pass and rounded the keeper for no.2. There was a great work ethic throughout the team and Alex White was named m.o.m.

Bluntisham Rangers U 14B
Bluntisham Rangers U14B 2  Witchford Colts 2

In a game which flowed from end to end Bluntisham failed to make their first half superiority count and went behind to a goal from the visitors mid way through the first half. The second half followed much like the first with Witchford taking advantage of a defensive mistake to go 2-0 ahead. The Bluntisham team showed immense character and eventually wave after wave of attacking football paid off with a brilliant strike from Liam Smith, which gave the keeper no chance.  With only five minutes minutes remaining, a Bluntisham player was fouled on the edge of the penalty box, and from the resulting free kick Liam Smith struck the dead ball into the goal to take a share of the spoils.

Bluntisham Rangers U 11A
Bluntisham Rangers U11A 1 Priory Parkside 11

Bluntisham played well in the first half against a strong Priory side. James Geary in goal was making some fine saves as Blunty soaked up the constant pressure. George Goodwin and Ryan Payne in the Blunty defence were in great form.
Priory broke the deadlock with a fine headed goal and soon after snatched another, but Blunty fought back with a fine goal from Kieran Carter, who chipped the advancing keeper after fine work from Sam Dew, 2-1 to Priory at half time.
Second half different story, with a own goal and two fine goals, Priory's lead was 5-1.Blunty had no answer to the fine teamwork and finishing the Priory team produced and ran out 11-1 winners. Well done to Ryan Payne ,MoM for Blunty and to the team for their efforts

Bluntisham Rangers U 11A
Bluntisham Rangers 1 – 7 Chatteris Town Youth A

What an undeserved defeat! The Blunty team tried there best with some great defending from Conor Kerins, Ben Beardsley, Bradley Ford and goalie Ben Hirst but Chatteris kept on the attack and the Blunty team just could not take control. In the second half a penalty given to Blunty taken by Lewis Bowcutt hit the back of the net giving them a much deserved goal but Blunty just couldn’t get the better of Chatteris. MOM Ben Hirst

Despite two previous consecutive victories for the away side, Ramsey proved too strong for Blunty in this fixture. Bluntisham competed well until  late in the first period when Ramsey took the initiative with a flurry of late goals despite brave keeping from Joshua Douglas.  Good work from Harvey Bullin enabled top scorer William Ellis to maintain his goal a game recordthis season but Bluntisham were never really in this game and Ramsey wereworthy winners.

Bluntisham Rangers U 16A
Bluntisham Rangers U16A 3 Huntingdon Rowdies 2

Bluntisham Rangers U16A played Huntingdon Rowdies and came away with a well deserved 3-2 victory.
Rowdies started the better and Bluntisham had to defend a constant barrage of long throw ins which they did successfully.
Bluntisham then began to play in the Rowdies half and created pressure that allowed them to take the lead from a well delivered corner by Tom Skidmore that was cleverly turned into the goal by Arron Martin.
Bluntisham then extended their lead when a free kick by Tom Norton was firmly headed in by Tom Power.
Rowdies then put the pressure in the second half and were rewarded with a scrappy goal after another long throw.
Bluntisham then worked hard to get back in the game and took a 3-1 lead when Josh Parker thumped a left foot volley from a Tom Norton cross.
The game was not finished there and Rowdies got a second to leave the last 15 minutes a tension packed time but Bluntisham held on to take the victory.
Great performances from Simon Cafferkey and Ollie Gautrey in the defence who responded to the previous weeks defeat.

Bluntisham Rangers U8A
Hemingford 1 Bluntisham Rangers 8A 3

Another excellent win for Bluntisham, this time against a spirited Hemingford side.
A tight first period ended goalless with Bluntisham creating the better of the chances. Harvey Bullin created a number of opportunities for the awayside but the visitors lacked the final finish their approach play deserved.
The deadlock was finally broken in the second period by William Ellis with another fine long range effort. Excellent, brave goalkeeping from
Joshua Douglas kept Blunty in the game while at the other end Bullin, George Kenney and Jake Wallace all again went close with a number of near  misses.
In the closing moments of the second period Hemingford pulled level with abrilliant move down their right wing culminating in the equaliser.
Bluntisham however regained the lead in the following period with Bullin again running riot and this time finally able to apply an excellent
fFinish to a fine solo run.  This was quickly followed by Max Davies' first Blunty goal of the season with a one on one with the Hemingford goalie.
Excellent debut performances from Jack Taylor and Aaron Horrocks ensured Blunty were able to maintain their lead and record their second victory of the season.

Bluntisham Rangers U8B
Somersham Orange 6 Bluntisham Rangers 8B 1

Somersham proved too strong for a battling Blunty side in this encounter. Despite Max Dighton's efforts in the Bluntisham goal, Somersham took an early lead and rarely looked troubled apart from some long range efforts from Peter Woodward and Jonathan Walker.
Matthew Walker and Max Chipchase took the midfield battle to Somersham but the home side scored at regular intervals to maintain their lead.
Woodward finally gave the Blunty fans something to cheer about with a trademark hotshot from distance in the game's final period when
Bluntisham enjoyed their best period of the game.

Bluntisham Rangers U16A 3 Eaton Socon 5

Bluntisham Rangers U16A played Eaton Socon in a game of two halves.
Bluntisham got into the game early when a well flighted free kick bundled into the net by Tom Power. Bluntisham then played some of their best football of the season but were shocked when Eaton Socon’s only attack on the Bluntisham net led to a goal.
Bluntisham continued to play their stylish football and were rewarded when Dan Sterna finished a great move with a clinical finish to give a 2-1 half time lead.
Having dominated the first half  so much, the second was a turn of the tide and the Eaton Socon attack took on the Bluntisham defence, and came out winners scoring 3 goals in ten minutes to take a 4-2 lead.
Bluntisham then woke up and scored a great team goal with Tom Power again applying the finishing touch.
Bluntisham continued to press for the equaliser and although chances were made none were taken. In searching for the equaliser Bluntisham left themselves exposed at the back and conceded a fifth giving a final score of 5-3 to Eaton Socon.

Bluntisham Rangers U16B 4 Bottisham 2

Bluntisham u-16 B's came back from a 2-0 deficit to record their first win of the season 4-2 against Bottisham. It was a determined fight-back after conceding the first after only a few minutes. Bottisham then scored a second mid-way through the first half leaving Bluntisham with an uphill struggle. Just before half-time Janagan Sivakumar scored a breakaway goal and gave the team hope for the second half. The second half was a different game with Bluntisham showing much more attacking prowess and stopping the marauding Bottisham forwards. Janagan Sivakumar latched onto a long clearance from Keeper Adam Dean and dispatched a vicious shot to level the scores and then teed up Sam Scales to drive in the third goal. Bluntisham's fitness showed and they continued to press forward and were rewarded for their efforts when Jangan Sivakumar scored a brilliant fourth after good work between Sam Scales and Andy Prior to complete an excellent hat-trick. It was a satisfying victory against a good footballing side led by strong performances from MOM Steven Edge, Jamie Sewell and Steve Merry.

Bluntisham completely controlled this cup match against their league opponents. Bluntisham had most of the early possession, however failed to make their possession count. They pulled another one back, 2-3, after Blunty failed again to clear the ball. With time ticking away Spartak equalised with a fine shot into the bottom corner, 3-3, extra time looming. Hardwick Harriers 1-0 Bluntisham Rangers U12 friendly

This was a very entertaining match in which we should have had a draw at least. Both teams started the match just chasing the ball, but after 10 minutes Bluntisham started getting hold of the ball. By the second half we were having most of the play and were camped in Hardwicks half, but with only a couple of minutes left a Hardwick player had a cross/shot from near the corner which nestled into the far end of the goal. Despite the score this was a very encouraging performance by all the boys.

Bluntisham Rangers U16 A
Bluntisham Rangers U16A 0 Fulbourn Falcons 2

Bluntisham Rangers U16 played the league champions Fulbourn and played their part in a very entertaining game.Fulbourn started the better and created a chance that left an attacker with a heading chance but he put the chance over the bar.
Bluntisham got into the game with Josh Parker working tirelessly upfront to retain possession and forced a corner that Ollie Gautrey came close to finishing.
Fulbourn took the lead on 20 minutes with a well worked goal they could have then extended the lead except a brilliant save and then a penalty save by Luke Robinson kept Bluntisham in the game.

Arron Martin then fired a great shot but the Fulbourn also made a great save to give Fulbourn a 1-0 half time lead.

The second half was end to end with Tom Power continually challenging the Fulbourn back four and making their life uneasy.
Bluntisham put pressure on Fulbourn with a number of free kicks and corners but their defence held out.

With ten minutes to go Fulbourn scored a second,  Bluntisham continued to play attacking football but were unable to get a goal they thoroughly deserved.

Dan Sterna, Matt Norton, Tom Norton and Alex Parsons all had great games with plenty of energy and quality.

Bluntisham Rangers U16A 3 Milton colts 2

Bluntisham Rangers U16 started the season with a 3-2 victory over Milton.

Bluntisham started well with Josh Parker and Tom Power proving a handful for the Milton defence.  Bluntisham took a deserved lead when Tom Power calmly slotted the ball past the advancing goalkeeper after a turn of pace took him clear of the defence.

Bluntisham then extended their lead on fifteen minutes when Dan Sterna finished a well worked move.

Chances came and went for Bluntisham and they were punished when a long ball was not dealt with and Milton forward finished well just before half time.

The second half was a tight affair and once again a mistake on marking allowed Milton to equalise with a great header at the back post from a free kick.

Bluntisham then took the match by the scuff of the neck with Tom Power, Tom Skidmore and Josh Parker making the Milton defence work hard.

Josh Parker then scored the goal of the game with a great strike from the edge of the box to give Bluntisham a 3-2 lead

Bluntisham then continued to dominate the game and should have increased their lead but last ditch defence good goalkeeping and poor finishing meant the final score was 3-2 to Bluntisham.

Simon Cafferkey, Tom Power and Josh Parker all had great games but were well supported by the rest of the team to gain a good first day victory.
